We enjoyed Stake Conference Saturday evening and Sunday sessions. Elder Gibbons was the visiting authority from SLC and taught us how to preserve and enhance our marriage (which was a common theme). His bullets were 1-FHE with scriptures and calendar; 2-Treat family 1st class; 3-add humor; 4-listen better; 5-don't criticize (grapefruit syndrome) i.e. make your partner happy, not good; 6-be quick to forgive; 7-husbands counseled to frequently say, "I'm sorry", "I love you", "Yes dear", and "we can’t afford that", 8-make a plan to get out of debt, 9-pray for your marriage (if love weakens, it can be strengthened), and 10-be a true partner (wives and husbands). Many quoted "The Family, A Proclamation to the World".

Carol Lynn has leased an office at 806 E Jackson and will open as soon as they let her in. The sign is already up so we should mover her stuff this week. The lease officially starts April 1. Then the end of this week we go to clear out her house in Georgia. We will be coming back with Lydia, who just had her fourth birthday. She will be with us a week while her parents are in Portland, where they plan to move when Emily finishes her semester in Georgia.

While Emily and family are moving to OR and will be near Charity, Ben is moving from California to Nana’s house to help with the repairs while he does some more college.

Grammy’s Dinner Theater will open at Beasley’s on May 1 with performances on Mon eve and Sat matinees. It’s already in production on Rumpelstiltskin. June will be The Nerd. It will start right after a CASA fundraiser: an American Girl Fashion show in Greeneville. Trinity auditioned and will be a Julie model.

We are also both teaching piano. I teach two sets of brothers – one set are twins. Carol Lynn teaches a set of young twins, an older man, a high school boy on accordion and a lady who takes an accordion lesson now and then.

We are anxious to get the house in Georgia OFF our minds, the house in Bristol at the point of repairs and not using our time, the dinner theater rolling – with another director, and her office settled so we can be on a normal schedule by summer. Katya goes home in June and we are not getting an exchange student next year, though CarolLynn still places them. We want to go to OR, CO, and ID this fall to see this year’s three new babies.

For fun: We are contra dancing Wednesday nights, and playing cards/dominos/etc with a group of empty nesters from church on Friday nights. Soon we’ll be planting and mowing again!
